This page covers the Quiltspiration app on iPad and iPhone and on the web at app.myquiltspiration.com. Quiltspiration is made by Rockhounding Inc. The website myquiltspiration.com keeps nothing about you, except an email address if you ask us to tell you when membership opens.

What the app keeps

The server keeps what you put in the app so your quilts follow you to every device: your quilts and their designs, your stash fabrics with their photos and amounts, your scraps, your shopping list, the patterns you scan, your sewing progress, quilt labels and photos of finished quilts, and your settings. It keeps a random ID for each device so it stays signed in. If you sign in with Apple or with an email code, we keep that sign-in so you can get your account back on a new device.

Photos read by AI

Some photos you take are read by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic: fabric photos (to find your cutting mat’s grid, the fabric’s size and its colors), pattern pages you scan, and photos of quilts you ask the app to name. Our server sends the photo and keeps the result. Anthropic handles these photos under its commercial terms, which do not allow it to train its models on them. Your own photos stay in your account and are deleted with it.

Payments

When you become a member, Apple or Stripe takes the payment, and we never see your card. We keep a record of your plan, when it renews or ends, and the store’s purchase number, so your membership works everywhere you sign in.

Logs and errors

Our server’s logs record your internet address, your device type and the pages the app asked for. We use them only to keep the app working and to stop abuse, and they are deleted after 30 days.

Who else handles your data

Our server, database and photo storage run on Google Cloud. Cloudflare delivers the website and the web app. Stripe takes card payments on the web, Apple takes them in the app, Resend sends sign-in codes by email, and Anthropic reads the photos described above. Each handles your data only to provide that service to us. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use tracking that follows you to other apps and sites. The website counts visits with Google Analytics.

Deleting your data

Delete your account in the app under Settings, Delete account, or follow the steps on our delete account page. That removes your account, your quilts, your stash and every photo right away, except purchase records, which we keep as long as tax law requires. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription, so cancel that first.

Children

Quiltspiration is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep data about them.

Your choices

You can change or remove anything you put in the app, and you can delete your account. To ask what we keep about you, or for a copy of it, write to hello@myquiltspiration.com.
