Attic Windows quilt block
A window square with two frame strips mitered at the corner. With the frames in a light and a dark fabric, the quilt looks like rows of windows.
The Attic Windows is pieced on a 3 × 3 grid, so a 12" block has 4" grid squares.

How to sew a 12" Attic Windows block
Sew the side frame to the left side of the window square and the sill to the bottom, starting and stopping ¼" from the inside corner.
Fold the block so the two frame strips lie on top of each other, draw a 45° line from the inside corner out, sew on the line and trim the seam to ¼". The block measures 12" finished, 12½" with seam allowance.
