How to sew a 12" House block

Make 1 flying goose, 12" × 6" finished. Lay a 6½" background square on one end of a 12½" × 6½" accent rectangle, sew corner to corner, trim ¼" past the seam and press. Repeat on the other end, with the seam running the other way.
Lay out the units as drawn and sew them into 3 rows. Press the seams of each row the opposite way from the one before so they nest, then sew the rows together. The block measures 12" finished, 12½" with seam allowance.
