Rag quilt pattern
7" finished squares of flannel, each a front, a back and a smaller middle square, sewn with ½" seams to the front and snipped so they fringe. No binding and no separate backing.
The queen size is 92" × 106" with 195 squares. Each size below has its own fabric list, cutting and backing, worked out for 42" fabric with ¼" seams, 10% extra and yardage rounded up to the next ¼ yard.

Crib Rag quilt, 43" × 64"
54 blocks of 7", 9 rows of 6. The size includes the ½" fringe all around.

- Sage leaf: cut 3 strips 8" × WOF, then 11 squares 8".
- Navy sprig tree: cut 3 strips 8" × WOF, then 11 squares 8".
- Backs: cut 11 strips 8" × WOF, then 54 squares 8".
- Middles: cut 54 squares 6".
Putting it together
- Make 54 sandwiches: a back square face down, a middle square centered on it, and a front square face up. Sew an X corner to corner through all three layers.
- Sew the sandwiches into 9 rows of 6 with ½" seams, backs together so the seam allowances stand up on the front. Join the rows the same way, then stitch ½" from the outer edge all around.
- Snip every seam allowance and the outer edge every ¼", close to the stitching but not through it. Wash and dry the quilt to fluff the fringe.
Throw Rag quilt, 64" × 71"
