Charm pack quilt patterns
A charm pack is 42 squares of fabric, each 5" × 5". A charm square sewn with ¼" seams finishes at 4½", so one pack makes a top of 42 squares, 27" × 31½", before borders. Most quilts need several packs.
12 free patterns below come out of charm packs. For each bed size the table gives how many squares the quilt takes, worked out from every piece in the cut list.

Sewing with charm packs
- A 5" charm gives one 4½" square, four 2½" squares, or one 4⅞" square for a pair of 4" half-square triangles.
- A mini charm pack is 42 squares of 2½". It suits small four-patch and nine-patch blocks, doll quilts and table runners.
- Charm packs from one fabric line go together, so a quilt from three or four packs of the same line looks planned rather than scrappy.
