How to sew a 12" Kaleidoscope block
Cut eight wedges from template A, four of each fabric. Sew them in pairs, then pairs into quarters, alternating fabrics.
Join the quarters into halves and the halves into an octagon, matching the center points. Cut the 4½" squares once on the diagonal and sew a triangle to each of the four short sides. The block measures 12" finished, 12½" with seam allowance.
