Double Nine Patch quilt block
Five small nine-patches and four plain squares, set as one big nine-patch. Each small square is a ninth of the block wide.
The Double Nine Patch is pieced on a 9 × 9 grid, so a 18" block has 2" grid squares.

How to sew a 18" Double Nine Patch block

Lay out the units as drawn and sew them into 3 rows. Press the seams of each row the opposite way from the one before so they nest, then sew the rows together. The block measures 18" finished, 18½" with seam allowance.
