Irish Chain quilt block
The pieced block of a Double Irish Chain: 25 squares in three fabrics, with the darkest running corner to corner. Next to a plain block with a square in each corner, the chains link across the quilt.
The Irish Chain is pieced on a 5 × 5 grid, so a 10" block has 2" grid squares.
Also called Double Irish Chain.

How to sew a 10" Irish Chain block

Lay out the units as drawn and sew them into 5 rows. Press the seams of each row the opposite way from the one before so they nest, then sew the rows together. The block measures 10" finished, 10½" with seam allowance.
